Shapeshifters have always been among us. They had been rogues and rebels throughout history, but as society evolved and innovations came to light, they've tended toward organized crime. In Ashdale, there are two shifter families plus a human-led crime syndicate and they, for the most part, don't get along. Another complication is the fact that supernatural items exist--heirlooms of the family and even national treasures. And you don't know if that good luck charm your uncle gave you is really a good luck charm. Possession of these items is a risk, but Ashdale's citizens happily stroll through the street, danger in the back of their minds until they have a pistol pointed to the back of their heads. It can't happen to me. The criminals are good at keeping secrets. However, Ashdale's law enforcement is taking note and unraveling the mysteries. But what happens when they figure it out?
